Hello, literary world.
Welcome to the new Passages North website. We’re not what anybody would call early adopters of anything (except maybe snow tires; those were a good idea), but look at us now – we’re on Facebook, we’re on Twitter, we’re accepting submissions online.
We’ve also got some staff changes. The lovely Katie Hanson, Passages North’s Editor-in-Chief for the last thirteen lucky years, has retired and headed south into the sunshine. We’ll miss her so much, and we look forward to reading more of her work now that she’s free from committee meetings and keeping the PN office stocked with chocolates. We also hope to post her occasional dispatches from Tennessee here, especially come winter, when we forget that the whole world isn’t snowed in like we are.
Matthew Frank will be taking over as our Nonfiction Editor. We’ve never seen a human with his level of enthusiasm before, so we can’t wait to see where he takes us. And the tireless and talented Beverly Matherne is stepping up to become our new Poetry Editor. We couldn’t be more excited.
Thankfully, we’ve got consistency in the office itself, with the curmudgeonly and kind Tim Johnston sticking around as Managing Editor for the next few years at least. A million thanks too to Web Editor, Hailey Heikkinen, for her many hours of volunteer design work, and her patience as she was asked over and over again what was the difference between css and php. I still don't know the answer, but I won't let it slow us down.
So welcome. Take a look around at the selected content in our archives. Send us some work. Say hello.
